Hello! My name is Kerttu and I am a registered psychologist with 9 years of experience in supporting people in the Mental Health field. I understand that life gets messy and sometimes things happen, so my approach to therapy is rooted in compassion and empathy while focusing on continued growth. I am particularly passionate about Perinatal Psychology and supporting parents in the whirlwind of bringing a human into this world.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Therapy approaches incorporating mindfulness practices, such as meditation and breathing exercises, to help individuals cultivate present-moment awareness, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being.
Teletherapy/Online Counseling: Remote therapy sessions conducted via video conferencing or phone for individuals who prefer or require the convenience and accessibility of virtual therapy services.

Here are some key aspects of perinatal psychology: Decisions around having a baby, Conception and infertility, Prenatal mental health, Preparation for childbirth, birth experience, postpartum adjustment as well as parent and infant bonding,
Birth Trauma: In Australia 1 in 3 mums report having a traumatic birth experience. Untreated, this can lead to on-going mental health challenges and difficulties bonding with the baby. Psychology can help reprocess the experience and navigate the associated distress.
Reproductive Loss and Trauma: Perinatal psychology also offers support to individuals and couples coping with reproductive loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, and infertility. They help clients navigate grief, trauma, and future decision-making process.
